About me
My Background
Before I became a Hypno-Psychotherapist, I was a Solicitor for many years, working in small and large organisations at both ground floor and senior management level. People who seek legal advice do so mainly because something has gone terribly wrong in their life. It was often the case that I acted partly as legal representative, and partly as counsellor, as my clients did not have anyone else to turn to or to talk to in those desperate times. Although I have many positive things to take away from my legal career, ultimately, I wasn’t able to help people in the ways that I felt were truly important, and it was for this reason that I decided to make the change.
I went back to University to re-train and I qualified as a Hypno-psychotherapist. I continue to study and widen my expertise. My previous, somewhat varied, professional and personal life experience has given me a broad perspective on the issues that many of us face in life and I have always been able to empathise strongly with others.
As a therapist, I am able to support and help people in a much more profound and personal way than I ever could as a Solicitor, and it is this which I find the most satisfying part of my work.
