Stop Smoking
Congratulations on your decision to quit and become a non-smoker! You have taken the first step into a cleaner, brighter, and healthier future.
Whether this is your first or umpteenth attempt to quit smoking, you will no doubt be aware that just knowing and understanding the dangers and costs (financially and health-wise) of smoking are not sufficient in themselves to enable you to quit.
Willpower alone is rarely successful.
Nicotine replacement therapies serve to continue the body’s addiction to Nicotine and it is all too easy to relapse when faced with a “trigger”, whether that be a stressful situation, socialising, or being with people who have not decided to quit.
Smoking addiction
The physical and psychological addictiveness of smoking is well known, and the struggles you face when trying to quit are real and present significant challenges. What is often forgotten is that you probably lived for many years, from birth up to when you started to smoke, without a dependence on smoking.
It is entirely possible for you to return to that state now.
As a smoker who wants to quit, you can become a non-smoker with a single session of Hypnotherapy.
How will Hypnotherapy help?
Clinical hypnosis is increasingly recognised as being one of the most successful methods of becoming a non-smoker. The therapy will not only help you to stop smoking, but will eliminate your "smoker mentality", work on your triggers for smoking, deal with your cravings, and so on. On conclusion of the therapy, you will be a non-smoker.
It is important that you have your own reasons for wanting to be a non-smoker, and that you have a genuine and personal desire to quit. Agreeing to quit because someone else wants you to is not sufficient and will significantly reduce the chances of success.
How long will it take?
Smoking cessation Hypnotherapy is delivered as a single session lasting around 2 hours. During the therapy we will address your personal triggers for smoking, withdrawal symptoms, lifestyle issues, and so on, in order to give you the best chance of success in being a non-smoker.
What if I relapse?
Relapses are rare, but do occur from time to time. For this reason I offer a follow up session, free of charge, to be taken within 3 weeks of the initial session. It is entirely up to you whether you wish to have this, but if you do relapse for any reason, I advise strongly that you do book this shorter follow up session, usually lasting no more than an hour.
Preparation before your session
The first session will be booked in advance to give you time to prepare. I will send you a questionnaire, and it would be helpful if you were able to complete it prior to our meeting, (although we can complete it together if you prefer).
You should be prepared to leave the therapy session as a non-smoker. It is advisable that, before the session, you throw away all your smoking aids and paraphernalia, such as lighters, matches, ashtrays, cigarette cases, any remaining cigarettes, tobacco, papers, filters, and anything else related to smoking. You should aim to make your home, car, and any other personal spaces, smoke-free.
Please note; if you are currently suffering from depression, then this may not be the right time for you to quit smoking and the chances of success are considerably diminished. However I will be happy to see you for a more general session to see how I can help you with your current situation.
